The long running Chicago-based arts and culture publication Lumpen has just released another comics issue, their first devoted entirely to comics since the 1990s. This issue, which was expertly curated by Lumpen’s comics editor Joe Tallarico, is jammed-packed with talented cartoonists proving just how exciting the Chicago comics community is today.
Lumpen mounted an exhibition of works by the artists featured in the issue at the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood last Friday. I had the chance to stop by and take a few shots of the event:
If you can get your hands on a copy of the issue in Chicago, I highly recommend it. Included are comics from the amazing list of contributors below along with an interview with one of Chicago’s brightest cartoonist stars, Lyra Hill.
