Alex Lukas is a printmaker, painter, zine publisher and illustrator whose diverse output evades these simple classifications. His work often features imagery of stark architecture or barren landscapes and his mixed media techniques add a surreal flavor to the subject matter. Alex is a resident at Space 1026er, a long-standing creative community based in Philadelphia and is also the founder of Cantab, a zine publishing company he started in 2001.

Featured here is a new 72-page, 8.5″ x 7.25″ zine called RTMA which mixes screen printing, photocopy, diazotype and offset pages with an offset cover. Modified photos mixed with geometric patterns and hand-drawn type contrasted against clean modern typesetting make up this diverse book that somehow feels chaotic and serene all at the same time.

You can checkout more of Alex’s work at and purchase RTMA directly from this very same website.
